In 1960, Mr. Juan Montemayor-Martinez, (see Founders), started the family cattle business buying a small ranch, near the city of Monterrey, NL Mexico. His passion for the cattle industry, led him to buy more and more land adjacent to the original ranch and during 30 years the growth was constant, both in acres and in animals.
His son, Mario J. Montemayor-Garcia, (see Founders), inherited the love for animals, and in 1975, visited the Pocatello ranch in Idaho, USA, where he acquired a total of 706 head of Charolais cattle both full French and purebreds.

The present owners of the ranch, have continued the family tradition, and therefore Rancho San Juan (RSJ) has been constantly improving all aspects of the ranching enterprise such as: genetics, infrastructure, breed knowledge, technology, and overall management.
In recent years, RSJ obtained a recognition from AICA (American International Charolais Association). for being the ranch with most new calves registered in a single year.
We have been using 100% imported semen from France and England to constantly improve our genetics and for example: Sir Duke-914 genetics have been proven to give the best over-all results in the data base of 60,000 cows contained in the Charolais Herd Book of Mexico.
You are always welcome to visit our ranch near the Monterrey international airport.
